Enviro Warrior - Wake up and smell the Homus ... then tread lightly upon the planet.

A HAPPY NEW ECO YEAR TO YOU ALL

Well my friends, we managed to survive the silly Season at the Envirowarriors house, without a single sheet of new wrapping paper or Christmas Card being purchased ; AND FOR THE FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW! *lol* funny thing is, rather than my stocks diminishing over the years, it is has almost doubled?

Has anyone got a theory on how that happens ...?

Once again, the Solar New Year is already upon us and I am looking forward to a nice sunset BBQ out on our island later today, perhaps even a sunset swin as the humid, balmy tropical summer continues its three month sojourn in se Q. In keeping with the mood then, my thoughts turned to you, my virtual friends and I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful New Year, hoping it brings all the changes and eco friendly alternatives into play that make life better for your household, your bank account and the planet, over the coming year.

What are you doing this year to celebrate?

It has been a joy to share another year with you and I look forward to a progressively more eco friendly New Year, as we plough on through the changes of our time and our natural progression back to the light of pollution free living, hopefully without the hardships though as we explore the wonders of technology and finally, our own ingenuity in using it to harness our natural resources.. Something to make every Envirowarriors heart very happy.

'2008 : The Venus Project Offers Hope for Viable Modern Eco Living'

Thank you all for the support, participation and encouragement during 2008, I am currently researching many wonderful new things that are not too far off the horizon of daily living, to offset previous years of *heavy feet,* and look forward to sharing and discussing the possibilities with you over the coming months.

It is interesting to note that the latest predictions and projections are starting to agree, that it will only take a matter of about 10 years for the planet to return to a pristine state after all the oil runs out and the cleaner renewable technologies and infrastructure fully implemented. That excites me and there is much to explore in the coming years, especially as one technology supersedes another.

2008 : An Alarming Rate of Deforestation in the Amazon as Farmers Try to Cash in on Corn Crops for Fuel

With only 2% of the planet now covered in trees, I have also had time during the holidays, to reflect and ponder how rain will fall when all the trees are gone? Besides doing what I can to keep planting new ones, I have discovered some unique possibilities across the globe, which I will also share during the coming months...

Hard to imagine that tribal man lived on this planet without damaging it for thousands of years before us, isnt it? I can only hope that the New Year moves us closer in consciousness to understanding how that is completely achievable in a *modern* world, using the wonders of technology and a little forethought.

Hoping 2009 is filled with unmitigated abundance and happiness for you all, without it costing the planet. Please remember, you, the consumer have the power to make the changes you want to see in your everyday choices... Make this New Year count through exercising that power ... even if its just to change one light bulb to a more eco friendly variety.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

Theory: Perhaps you purchased cards and paper made from recycled paper from an environmental charity...? Or people heard that you're an envirowarrior, and piled their stashes upon you to recycle 'em

Hi Lara,

Yes, people do pile their supplies onto me, you guessed that bit right, one of the joys of being an envirowarrior, people come to think of you as being able to recycle what they cant. I dont know why?. *lol* that must be it!

I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season and that the new year is filled with truckloads of abundance and bliss just for you to enjoy.

Thanks for the good wishes, I also look forward to learning more as I go too. We live in such interesting times...

Cheers,

Lilla,

As I knew, the U.S. is undergoing huge solar projects, wind energy projects and wave power projects in 2009. At least, they've realized that it's about time to take a good care of the mother nature...

Hi Wilson,

Now that is something to drink too, isnt it? About time the US proved they were the most progressive nation on the earth able to lead the world somewhere progressive, other than to consumerist destruction and war.

Overall, I think 2009 will prove pivotal in many ways for good ole earth, especially August 15th ... something significant there to watch for I am told?

Thanks for the good news and I hope your New Year is filled with abundance and much happiness too.

*gasp* Only 2% of the earth is covered in trees? Hopefully something will be done about that soon!

Hope you have a wonderful new year, Lilla!

Thanks Rusty,

Too true, its a really scary statistic when you fully encompass its meaning, especially when there is just absolutely no need for trees to continue to be depleted at all. SOme big changes though this year, especially around August 15th? Time will tell. truth is if its a good change, it will be very quiet, for sure... with long term benefit to us all.

I hope 2009 proves to an excellent year for you my freind, with much opportunity, abundance and bliss held for you, in each of its days.

Hiya Dean, Thank you. It is looking good for all of mankind at this stage, of course the fundamentalists who need their apocalyptic nightmare, may be a little dissapointed... *lol* from what I hear, its all a matter of individual choice now as the end winds up and we leave the hell realms behind.

An exciting time to live and travel, breathe and mingle ...

Enjoy my friend.
