Enviro Warrior - Wake up and smell the Homus ... then tread lightly upon the planet.

A Truth of Climate Change

...sorry to sadden anybody...
but the truth is clear...
we do need to make a difference,
the time is now... not near...
... each drop saved,
each hour a light bulb is not lit,
every piece of packaging avoided,
one plastic bag recycled,
...methane and garbage avoided...
every piece ...every one thing...
conserve it now...make do
it's time to try and trick mother earth,
into thinking there's not really 6 billion of us...
but only two....

my heart is very sad about it,
but I think your words fine ...
...the Mayans' believed that 2012
was when we'd walk the line...

collect some tin foods,
get a torch that doesn't need batteries,
find a small radio that does...
get some thermal underwear,
and a warm coat or two...
maybe install an open fire place
because soon,
...you'll never know...
what the weather might do...

if you live on the coast,
ensure you have a dinghy,
or a small little tin boat,
....even if it's the bath tub,
you're gonna need something that floats...

It sounds funny, doesn't it?
...tragedy always does... but
It's not a joke...
...I really wish it was...
change is in the air,
...ready or not!

Reading this, I noticed the kids left on the lights in the kitchen and hallway. I paused to insure they were shut off. Funny how little things slip by unnoticed until someone calls attention to them.

I've actually got a piece I'm preparing to work on about that Mayan prediction.

Beautifully written, Lilla. Inspiring, to say the least.

Great work compiling it up Lilla. Now everyone will notice the little things and hope... truly hope... that this poem touches them as much as it has deeply touched us.

my dear Lilla,

I'm so glad to hear you love my upside down kitten picture. It is the sweetest pic ever, isn't it?

Funny to think its so hot Down Under & soo soo cold in Alberta right now! but I guess we are on opposite hemispheres aren't we. just you wait til 8 months from now & its 25 to 28 degrees (celsius) here. then you'll be sorry. oh let me guess, even in Australian winter your temps are still warm!

Talk to you soon Sweetie

Hi Pegasus.

Well, not really warm. During Winter in Toowoomba you can have about 16 - 24 degC and you get about 9 degC after sunset and sometimes about 2 degC at night. Yet the wind chill is about -5 degC and to me I can almost turn frozen.

The weather in Kuala Lumpur at the moment is between 21 - 33 degC. You get really hot sun in the morning and thunderstorm by 3pm. Sometimes it keeps raining till the next morning and you get striking sunshine again.

Yet with all the water haze still hit the city.

we're certainly not ready,
the time is right now,
is it nuclear energy will get us,
or environmental impair?

It's a race between two

gather loved ones together

Floating in the bathtub,
singing in the rain?

Love your photograph of the blood red moon against the stark black tree trunk.

Lilla,

I dunno, I think we're all fucked, in the most vulgar way possible. I've got a glimmer of hope that technology will come through, but:

- people at the university leave the lights on all night, with the air conditioning on and the windows open, no matter how much I tell them to stop

- water consumption rises as people want more fountains and swimming pools.

- I bought something from the store that was plastic wrapped in plastic, then individually wrapped.

- an average Sydney traffic jam shows that around 70-80% of the cars only have one occupant.

So? We're doomed.

11. November 30th 2006 @ 01:03. Jessicca Says:
Guess we are...

Cibbuano, Kuala Lumpur has the exact same problem at the moment.

Yet the MRT (LRT are called in Malaysia) and Commuter Trains are packed with people all the time. (And I remembered this happens the same when I was in Sydney)

Perhaps technology and government hasn't been able to catch up with each other enough?

Hey, Lilla. Great post. I was wondering about your line about the mayans, though. Was it 2012 by their calendar or the Gregorian?

You are correct and with global warming where I am in Queensland (down on the coast) hardly registering a winter at all now at all… I just melt like little kitty there… but I bet kitty would curl up in front of the fire there… does it get very cold in Alberta in the winter? I wish it would snow here for Christmas…

Cibbuano,

You are probably very close to the truth…unfortunately… however, like you I think if mother earth can hold another 50 years or so… after the oil runs out… the moguls will introduce all the new technology – which of course they will still be able to make money out of – but none-the-less a chance for us all, perhaps… let us hope so anyway…

What if you turned off lights and shut down computers every now and then…always made me feel really good. What about writing to the Dean about it? Fountains and waterfalls are becoming banned here in Oz, don’t get me started on the packaging and as for John Howard… I really don’t have free speech to say, do I?

Really nice to see you again after long hiatus… I thought the Mayan, I am not sure of the Gregorian, because like so much other western ‘history’ so much has been altered… are the Gregorian disasters the ones predicted by Nostradamus, is that what you mean?

Try this really cool site Jessica found earlier about the Mayan predictions The Mayan Elder Speaks.

Don't know about Gregorian calendar ending... as I said... do you have any info on it?

Hi Lilla,

Yes, Kuala Lumpur is quite polluted in many ways. People just need to keep reminding themselves that they should cherish whatever is given to them, judging that though it is multi-race country but everyone live nicely together... just that the trash they leave.... really saddening some times.

Hope that next year there will be more effort to keep the place better environment friendly since it is a visit Malaysia year.

And yes, the Mayan Elder Speaks does gives quite a different look on how the Mayan tribe look into. And to be greatful that there are still peace loving and nature loving people around, no matter how minor the group is.
21. December 1st 2006 @ 04:18. Lilla Says:
Jessica,

Thank you for theat really heartfelt read from the Mayan Elder... I particularly liked the lines...

Your sadness and loneliness is the same as mine. We have the same feelings of love. Why? We have the same sun, one breath, all the earth is fed by the one sun, air, water-mother earth, and we return here. We are the flower of the earth of different colors, sizes, scents. You and your music -we all go in the same direction: toward the Creator.

It reminded me of the many times I have thought myself... when did we [human race] begin to think we were not a part of a living breathing entity which nourishes us all, not only with oxygen, but [prana] life energy, and sustains us with clean water and food...

I have always felt that there is a part of me that must be from an alien world, because when I look around the city, the man-made reality we have made for ourselves on earth, does not fit this reality... for sure... Lilla...

... we must all take heart because we are the difference... not like ostriches with our heads in the sand... but heads up and aware of the difference we can make in the small things we do every day... especially our prayers... I never underestimate them... and there are many world prayers going on... join yours to theirs and let the green bubble rise... and with it the changes that we need to come in time... and they will.... education is the key that unlocks this door, not ignorance...

Hi Lilla, I am glad that you liked the article I found about the Mayan Elders.

Indeed we are different but we are still the same. Just that many of us have forgotten that we are still:

Human

But we are unique in a very special way. You know I just read my "purpose driven life this morning" and what the writer said was, "God wants unity, not uniformity." The cooperation is more important than solving problems for our own needs to co-exist in this big planet of ours.
26. December 2nd 2006 @ 08:07. Lilla Says:
Hi Jessica,

how right you are, too true... I forget that... the trouble is I get angry when I see people treading heavily upon the earth and abusing the free gifts we have been granted... I get sick from the consumerism that consumes people daily, to the point of forgetting what the message of Love and peace and harmony is all about. I get sick when I see more vices supported than virtues and children suffering as a result... then I get tired... tired of my fellow humans... I know then it is time to withdraw into solitutde to be able to comune with my ideals and again, to pray with the great ones and breathe ... inorder to continue to tread lightly upon the earth... like a butterfly...maybe I'll bring her back...

thanks Jessica,
Lilla...
27. December 2nd 2006 @ 08:17. Jessicca Says:
At this point of time, besides isolation, I also try to "reach out". Tell everyone, if you keep treading like this it will surely be the end of us.

Sometimes those who doesn't care, can't see much... and I hope through setting good examples they soon will see what they are missing from all the "free stuffs" and paying for everything that was suppose to be free.

Yes, lets bring our beautiful Mother back, and let the Creator know that we are not a race for extinction.

Hello Luxuriating ~Lily,

I have just come back from a very powerful drumming circle with Medicine Crow and feel cleansed somehow... wonderful magic, vibration... we drummed for peace, prayed for rain and positive thoughts for politicians re: pollution.... and on the way home blissfully at peace, I thought of that saying by Edward Everett:

I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.

I like hot fudge too... but it is reserved for special worshipping days when I strew rose petals and run salt baths under a full moon, putting 'Do Not Disturb' signs up for all and sundry... *giggling ol* I guess it is the same for Jessica's hot tubbing treats when she spares the extra water... it is good to feel you are alive sometimes and a must to reward our body for the faithful service it gives us, n'est pas, mon petite?

Languishing Lilla...

i went to a drumming circle once; it was exhilirating!!!! ~to say the least. funny; i grabbed my djembe last night on my way over to my friends, 2 guitars and a beat... with lots of silly songs .. we made up a vowel song, e-long-ated words at the end of bizarre musings ..all those oooohs and aaaaahs and yeeeahs .. we noticed that the i's are usually at the start... funny about that...

glad to hear your tone of hope and refreshment....have had a relaxing luxurious 'i' weekend miss Lilla.. and i am auburn once again...

Hi Lilla,

About that Gregorian calendar thing, I was just curious if maybe the Mayans had their own calendar, since if they did, won't the dates get mixed up when "translated" to the Western calendar? Feel free to ignore me since I'm not making much sense, even to myself. *lol*
40. December 6th 2006 @ 21:52. Lilla Says:
Rajin Cajun,

It's a great question, particularly because I can't answer it...*hmmm - ponder...*

I am assuming that whoever first came upon the Mayan 'stuff' would've translated it through stars, and astrological factors to coincide with our 2012... I did say ass-u-ming....*lol-ing now*

I will check about and see if I can find the co-relation... I did find a great picutre of a Mayan cave painting the other day that looks exactly like a man in a space ship...I will post it on my 'Ordinary Life' blogg in due course... I think people should see it...

...hmmm, dang, you;ve really got me thinking.... I shall be back with a reply soon I hope...

thanks,
Lilla...

hello!
really well written!
iv been doing a lot of research into this aswell. i was wondering is there scientecfic proof that the allignment will occur on 2012?
If so, it must have a major significance. It cant be a co-insedence that the mayans predicted that date, with all of there knowledge which they SOMEHOW had!
Im going through a lot of personal changes as predicted, i beleive that we all will as we are aproching that date!. As we are made up from the same material as space its self, which all life is created from. I know its pretty far out, but its VERY hard to explain! (progession of humans ie soul and technology = progression of space cycles etc) ALL IN SYNC maybe??
Anyway, i think it is a very exciting time to be alive and i am honoured to experience it.

Hi J A G,

Thanks for your interesting comment and thoughts ... indeed I believe that we are one with each other and all that is around us... and shifting...

When you look at it, the industrial generations are perhaps the most ignorant of that fact and the most disconnected, when it comes to understanding the universe in which we live.

Organised religion has done a lot to dampen the native wisdoms of ages past and there is an outer rim, planetary alignement due in 2012, as there was one in 1972 and 1986.

1972 was a particularly interesting year because of intervention from higher realms to protect the earth from what was a huge solar flare... anyway, it worked and we survived to tell the tale... I do not know what 2012 will involve, but there will always be doomsayers who prophecy from a lack of immagination and magic int heir lives.

There will always be good and bad, won't there?

It has to be as our dimension operates on opposites.

But I think we're all beginning to realise that something has got to give and I'm beginning to think that the grand plan houses special dates to allow certain cleansings to take place on the planets sruface - like the recent Tsunami. 2012 may be a big one, although 1972 was not?

Let me know what you find out as your research further, I'm always intersted in new information. Meanwhile thank you again for your compliment on my poetry.

caio for now,
Lilla
